Chemical Peel

Chemical peeling is a procedure where an acid solution, with varying degrees of concentration, is applied over the skin of the face. The chemical removes the top layer of the skin, leaving the face with a sunburned appearance. Ointments and lotions are used to keep the skin moist during the healing process. Usually, no bandages are necessary,and the skin will heal within five to seven days.

Chemical peeling can improve superficial wrinkles, blotchy pigmentation, and other signs of sun damage. Chemical peeling is also helpful in treating superficial scars, as well as for improving some pigmentary problems.
